Freedive Equalisation 121
Are you struggling to equalise between 1-10m? Is it harder or impossible when upside down? Or do your ears hurt the next day or feel like they are full of water? If the answer is yes to these then the Freedive Equalisation 121 course is for you!
The course takes place remotely, initially you book a free video call and we discuss your challenges with equalisation followed by an assessment of how you equalise naturally.
We will then go through dry exercises starting with basic skills that will train you to close your glottis and move your tongue correctly, these skills build neurological pathways and muscle memory and can be practice out of the water.
Next we will simulate head-down diving on land and expand these exercises enabling you to compress the air in your mouth to equalise.
We utilise phonetics to help refine your Frenzel and cover some elements of the anatomy around equalisation so you can better understand what is going on. The outcome will be the bringing together of these skills to perfect your ability to perform the Frenzel manoeuvre.
ASSESSMENT PRE-REQUISITES

STUDENT FEEDBACK
Jaime – “I could equalise to about 4m but after that my equalisation was unreliable and even between 0-4m sometimes I struggled. I had an assessment and found that the method of equalisation I naturally used was the problem. I worked through the exercises and help was at hand when I struggled and then when I went diving again I was able to dive down to 13m without any issues. I would recommend the course to anyone.”
Rob – “I had been spearfishing for years off of Dorset, but I was always frustrated that sometimes I could equalise and sometimes I could not. I undertook an assessment and then worked through the exercises, the 121 feedback was better than other online courses, and the course improved my coordination. I now find I don’t need to focus on equalisation when i’m diving.”
Fernando- “I live near Crystal River, Florida, and a freediving buddy who came over from the UK told me to check out this course. I’ve been scuba diving for a long time but always had trouble with my ears. We had a first chat on Whatsapp, then I learned the exercises and got some awesome feedback. They also gave me tips on what makes equalising harder, and now, my equalising’s way better, and I don’t get any pain anymore. The remote style of teaching worked great as I could do the exercises when I had 5min free from my phone“
* The booking system can’t link up to our calendar as such we may need to re-arrange your assessment and therefore reserve the right to change the time and date of you initial assessment to one that is mutually convenient for both parties.
Do I need any kit?
